Motorcycle Collision causes Major Injuries
According to a CHP report on May 15, 2015 at approximately 2:25 PM Steven Burrows (60) of Fresno, was driving a 1991 Harley Davidson motorcycle heading north on Hwy 49 at Victoria Way in Jamestown.
April Kosa (33) of Jamestown was driving a 2014 Nissan Altima heading south on Hwy 49 approaching Victoria Way at approximately 40 MPH.
Brandon Supernaw (43) of Le Grand was at a complete stop in a Ford F-350 facing west on Victoria Way.
Burrows failed to yield the right of way to the Nissan and made a left hand turn directly in front of it. Kosa applied the brakes, but was unable to stop before the front of her vehicle struck the right side of the Harley.
Burrows was ejected from his motorcycle and came to rest within the southbound lane of Hwy 49, the motorcycle continuing in a southwesterly direction and colliding with the left front of the Ford.
Burrows sustained major injuries including a fractured right leg and pelvis, and was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital.
April Kosa as well as her right front passenger were taken by ambulance to Sonora Regional Medical Center for minor to moderate injuries.
Per CHP drugs and or alcohol were not a factor in this collision. Burrows was found to not be wearing a DOT approved helmet and did not have a motorcycle endorsement on his California Driver's License.
