David Dean Chitwood was entered into rest on August 12, 2015. He was the husband, friend, and partner of Kathy Crippen and they shared over 20 years of memories.
Born October 11, 1945 in Sebastopol, he was the son of Forest W. and Irene Chitwood.
David worked for the Laborers Union in Sonoma County for over 30 years where he enjoyed many years of service.
He then retired and moved to Calaveras County where he took some time to slow down and enjoy being retired as a ranch manager.
He also enjoyed time riding his motorcycle through the mountains and he was most known for his
rough and tough personality.
According to the family anyone who was graced with a moment of deep conversation soaked up the wisdom and guidance that flowed easily through his spirit and into your heart.
He is survived by his spouse Kathy Crippen and his daughter Stacey Crippen of Calaveras County; his children Nathan Chitwood and Tammy Pike of Lake County, Michael Chitwood of Anderson, stepsons Raymond, Robert and Richard Biegler of Lodi and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Santa Rosa.
