As of this morning, August 28, 2015 the Rough Fire, located in the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Forests has burned over 60,000 acres.Containment is estimated at 25%. Therefore, all camping and hunting are banned for the remainder of the 2015 season.
Other major fires in the state are being brought under at least 75% containment. This is the worst one in California right now. Giant Sequoias could be threatened.
