For days now, the SierraSentinel.com has been asked by readers why numbers for the number of homes burned in the Butte Fire have only been for both Amador and Calaveras counties.
Up until now we have thought that there was a good reason why we could not be told the number burned just in Calaveras County, but now we are wondering.
We have been told, "We don't want to upset people, who might lose hope!" HUH? How can anyone in Calaveras in the burn area have HOPE now?
We have now asked Cal Fire for these numbers, which they MUST know. They are the ones who release the numbers daily.
Why does Calaveras County hide, lie and cover up the truth about how incompetent their actions have been since the Butte Fire started.
Cal Fire indicates they may have to ask Calaveras County for permission to release this number.
Calaveras County Supervisors Edson and Kearney, and Sheriff Kuntz can't possibly look any worse.
Be honest with the public, for a change! Stop ducking and covering!!
