Apparently Calaveras Sheriff Gary Kuntz feels abused, and says he's just not "up" for this Office of Emergency Services stuff since the Butte Fire.
We've been told he says the OES job was DUMPED on him by Clifford Edson, a Supervisor who was supposed to be in charge and also could not handle the pressure.
One person told us that he and Ollie need to spend more time "watering" like they usually do, not helping those he considers 'beneath him'. What a disappointment!

you know, sierrasentinel, before you, no one ever told the truth to the public and these low life elected officials got away with it. thank you. you are doing a community service.
Edselin and Kunts are just plain incompetent. not a clue.
Anyone and their significant other with a huge group of personal and work-related friends and family can get voted in - no matter how incompetent they are. We have a few in office in Calaveras County who have benefited by this enormous voter base, voting them into office. One of the things we find with living in a small area.
