Now that PG&E is stating that one of the overheard transmission lines may have been the cause of the Butte Fire's start, the question is; why aren't they putting lines underground?
When we asked that question of PG&E,
they state it would cost too much money. We, in a rural area, just aren't worth the cost, they say.
So they continue to try and cut and cut and cut trees around their lines year after year after year, but sometimes the wind can blow a tree into the lines, or even just touches a line and...boom!
Should they cut down every tree tall enough to fall on any of their lines? Ridiculous? Or should they be forced to put everything in California underground?
