We've had several reports that SPI has sent many vehicles (FORESTER, they're called) into the fire area to find out how much money they will make from clearing the timber from the Butte Fire area.
This is the SPI we all know and despise. Money, money, money is all they care about. People lost their homes, and good old SPI, they're right on top of things, searching out more ways to make money for the Emmersons.
Most have trouble believing that SPI bulldozers used by Cal Fire were for anything but dragging in logging roads for them use after the fire.

I appreciate your coverage of the Butte Fire but this dig at SPI is uncalled for. They indeed sent in their bulldozers but they are building firebreaks, not logging roads. Even a limited investigation would have shown you that they are building firebreaks far wider than any logging road and that they are clearing brush in areas with no need of a logging road.
Cheap shots like this one diminish your credibility when calling out SPI on other activities for which they may deserve criticism.
I have property that SPI is helping to protect and I am very grateful to them.
Very interesting. Either you don't know the Emmersons well, or you are a tea party clear-cutter.
I noticed yesterday that they sent in dozers. if you know that company, you know everything they do is about making more money, not helping you save your land.
Is that a radio transmission that said the EMMERSONNS sent in dozers. I heard that one.
you can dig at those Emmersons or SPI any time you want sentinel. Go look at google maps in the Ebbetts Pass area. They are greedy butchers.
And SPI hardly donated them. Cal Fire pays a fortune to private dozer owners, most of whom are reputable.
