James Arthur Woodson, born September 6, 1949 in Stockton, made his home in Valley Springs for the past 33 years. On January 26, 2016 he died at home of natural causes at age 66.Jim earned his Bachelor of Professional Arts from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara and apprenticed with world-renowned portrait photographer, Yousuf Karsh in Ottawa Canada.
With ongoing creative spirit, Jim accomplished designing and building his own home, opening his own photography studio and having his photographs purchased by museums and galleries.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Patricia (English) Woodson, his daughter Laura Woodson of Valley Springs and his sister Kathy Woodson of Ripon.
A graveside service will be held at the Jenny Lind IOOF Cemetery at 8826 Mann St. in Valley Springs at 12 Noon on February 2, 2016 with a reception following at his home.
