UPDATE: Apparently, we have learned that it was reported a student had a gun at Bret Harte High School so the Calaveras Sheriff went into a wild spin. Bret Harte was locked down and also Mark Twain Elementary for a short time.
One student was detained, but no gun was ever located.
UPDATE: We have requested more information from Angels Police Chief Todd Fordhall, but have not yet had a response.
If you heard all the sirens or saw all the Sheriff's Office vehicles on Hwy 49 it seems they are headed for the Bret Harte High School Aquatic Center in Angels Camp.
We aren't sure what the problem is yet, but will let you know.
