Vicki Rea Hollars passed peacefully on January 16, 2016, surrounded by family and loved ones at her home in Angels Camp. She was 58.
Born in San Fernando on October 18, 1957 to Verna & Clee Scott, the family moved to Angels Camp in 1970 where she graduated from Bret Harte High School in 1975.
She married Jerry Hollars in 1976 and had three daughters; Heather, Chandra, Brooke and step-daughter Lisa.
She had two more children David, Jr & Brittane Scoggins with long time partner David Scoggins, Sr. She was a devoted partner, mother and grandmother.
She loved horses, winning youngest rider award at 3 years old in the 1961 Frontier Days Parade in Newhall.
She was well known for her compassionate nature and wonderful culinary skills, and she was quite athletic, playing softball as well as competing in a semi-pro bowling league.
She moved to Idaho in 1993, where she developed lifelong friendships and continued her culinary career.
She returned to Angels Camp in 2014 to be with her family while she battled cancer.
She was preceded in death by her mother Verna Scott.
She is survived by her father Clee Scott of Angels Camp, brother Jeff Scott of Brookings, Oregon, long life partner David Scoggins of Clark Fork, Idaho, daughters Heather Hollars, Chandra Eason and Brooke Linsley, all of Angels Camp, Brittane Scoggins of Priest Lake, Idaho, David Scoggins, Jr. of Coer D' Lane, Idaho and step daughter Lisa Willis of Murphys; grandchildren Payton (10), Mikey (5), Ava (2) Eason, Abbey (8), Travis (6) and Austin Linsley (4) all of Angels Camp.
No services are planned. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
Angels Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
