According to CHP on February 19, 2016 around 4:15 PM Jessica Pilson (27) of Copperopolis was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry on Hwy 4 east of Obyrnes Ferry Road at an approximated speed of 60-65 MPH.
For an unknown reason Pilson allowed her vehicle to leave the roadway and travel onto the shoulder on the north side of Hwy 4.
Pilson then lost control of her vehicle, per the report, traveling back to the left and across both lances of travel and onto the south shoulder of Hwy 4 where it struck an embankment, causing deployment of the airbags.
Pilson sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Mark Twain Medical Center for treatment.
A 6 month old child in the vehicle was not injured. Drugs and or alcohol are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
