On February 3, 2016 around 5:30 PM Joseph Viel (24) of Murphys, was driving a 2001 Dodge Ram southbound on Hwy 49 near San Antonio Creek in San Andreas at approximately 55 MPH.
For an unknown reason, he allowed the Ram to travel to the left and across the northbound traffic lane.
The Ram then struck the wood/concrete bridge railing, went through the railing and off the bridge.
The Ram came to rest after striking the south bank of San Antonio Creek. Mr. Viel refused treatment.
Alcohol and or drugs are not considered to be a factor in this collision.
