There has been nothing but criticism about the current Calaveras Planning Commissioners, who were appointed by their District Supervisors.
They approve of asphalt plants in residential areas, allow big developers to escape contracts to improve roads, encourage racism in their midst, and now deny a business in a building that has been vacant for what, 20 years???
Justin Catalano, who recently was given a tremendously hard time when he applied to be on the Council of Governments board, applied for a permit to open a cannabis dispensary in the old Blagen Lumber Mill offices at Toyon.
The moronic excuses they gave for denying this application are in keeping with the opinions of the public regarding their ability to handle the Planning Commission job.
All 5 voted against the permit. Catalano has appealed their decision to the Calaveras Supervisors.
