According to CHP on May 21, 2016 around 1:30 PM Jason Belche (40) of Ione was driving 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Hwy 4 near Main Street in Vallecito, westbound at an unknown rate of speed.
Per CHP, due to his intoxicated state, he traveled to the left of the solid double yellow center line while attempting to negotiate a natural curve in the roadway.
The motorcycle traveled across the eastbound lane and off the south side of the road and overturned, ejecting Belche.
After the collision, the motorcycle came to rest on its right side facing in a southerly direction off the roadway and down the embankment.
Belche was wearing a DOT approved helmet at the time of this collision. He was arrested for alleged 23152(a) VC, misdemeanor DUI and then flown to Doctors Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
