John Francis O'Neal of Mokelumne Hill, passed away in Sonora on July 22, 2016. He was 85.A native of Winters, Texas, he was born on September 2, 1930. He was in the US Army from 1948 to 1950.
He was a retired carpenter and a member of Mountain ranch Community Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife Edith O'Neal, daughters, Peggy Ambler and O'Neal.

He is survived by sons John Jr., Doug and Brian O'Neal and daughter Christie Satterfield, 21 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, a sister LaVerne Absher, and brother Kenneth O'Neal.
The family would like to thank Mountain Ranch Community Church, Sierra Hospice of San Andreas. San Andreas Memorial Chapel and Sonora Regional Care Unit 7.
A Memorial will be held on July 30, 2016 at Mountain Ranch Community Church at 10:30 AM.
San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
