Dear Editor:
I don't know how to say this, because I really like President Obama; but he's very wrong about the race issue in America.
Yesterday he gave a speech where he said
"I don't think America is as divided as we think it is."
He's so wrong and must live in a bubble. From what I've seen in my small corner of the world in Calaveras County, is exactly the opposite.
The people in America are more divided by race than at any time since the civil rights era. He needs to acknowledge that fact, like it or not.
Since the Tea Party and now Donald Trump have come on the scene, those white supremacists have come out from under their rocks to brag about their hate.
What the President can do about the division is not an easy thing to think about, but first he has to acknowledge the racists are worse and louder and more violent than ever!

Unfortunately, I agree with you!
A white supremacist (as I am) is not necessarily a racist! There's a difference.
