Dear Editor:
When I read what was written on this site about the dead tree meeting in Avery being just a campaign rally, I was skeptical.
I attended with the belief that my Supervisor Oliveira had our best interest at heart and that the people on the stage had some answers.
Well, I was sooo wrong and you were right. The one and only answer we heard was 'we don't know' and 'we have to wait' and 'no we can't help you'.
I did learn, although I had heard it before, that WATERING your trees will help protect them. Sprays and other poisons, I learned later, will NOT help and will kill the birds.
I have to give you credit, SS.com. Not only was our Supervisor using it to campaign, but I also feel he was trying to push the responsibility off onto all these other people he put on the stage.
He doesn't seem to like it when his constituents call for help. He likes the money and he likes the 'fame', but does NOT like to WORK!!
Yes, I wasted my time going to that meeting (most people said it was a joke), but I won't waste my vote on Supervisor Oliveira in the next election.
You know me, Ed in Arnold

How is an Oakland Cop going to lead the tree meeting? Does anyone really think he knows what he is talking about. The only reason he ran for Supervisor was to participate and influence the POT BAN. That is the only reason! All else is collateral baggage. Who is his handler? That is the real question. Who else provides his pay check. Oliveira, Dennis Mills, Mr. Tunno, Big Pot McManus, Current Sheriff are all on the same mission. What is this mission. Bankrupt Calaveras County
