Calaveras Council of Government meets to discuss grants
The Calaveras Council of Governments (COG) who gets all of the money from the state of California for our highways in Calaveras County, meets on Wednesday, October 5, 2016.

The US government has announced that Wells Fargo Bank has agreed to pay more than $4.1 million to resolve allegations it illegally repossessed cars.

Very interesting. Although it is very hard to understand the woman pushing the loans to the county, she mentioned that we took out COP's (LOANS) to build an animal shelter. Al Segalla had just mentioned that the money is often used for something other than what the taxpayers knew about.

Hwy 4 in Copperopolis still backed up from collision
Traffic in the Copperopolis area on Hwy 4 is still backed up due partly to an earlier collision. The big rig tow is stuck in traffic.

On Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 7 PM the Murphys water district (UPUD) will hold a public meeting to discuss possible rate hikes.

The exact cause of the fire at a vacant house on Mountain View Road in Angels Camp on September 21, 2016 has not yet been indicated by the Angels Fire Department, but we all need to be aware of and report any suspicious activity at a vacant property.

Suspicious death in San Andreas
According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office on September 21, 2016 deputies were dispatched to an apartment at the Creekside Apartments in San Andreas for a welfare check on a tenant who had not been seen recently.
A deceased person was located inside the apartment. An autopsy is being performed to determine the cause of death. Investigators found that a silver 2004 Chevy Tahoe registered to the tenant is unaccounted for at this time.
