near Hwy 49 near Angels Camp.
The initial stop was for expired registration and displaying false registration tabs.
The two occupants of the vehicle were identified as 27 year old Angels Camp resident Ryan Ashlock and 43 year old Angels Camp resident Sarah Tate.
An Angels Camp PD K9 unit conducted a sniff of the exterior of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics in the vehicle.
A subsequent search was made and officers located:
Approximately a quarter pound of crystal methamphetamine
Approximately 3.5 grams of marijuana
Metal billy club
Methamphetamine pipe
Straws
Razor blade
Ashlock was arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail for the following alleged charges:
11378 HS- Possession of Controlled Substance for Sales
11379(a) HS - Transportation of Controlled Substance

14601.1(a) VC - Driving on a Suspended or Revoked License
Tate was booked into the Calaveras County Jail with two outstanding misdemeanor Amador County warrants alleged.
Further investigation lead officers to a residents in the 300 block of South Main Street in Angels Camp.
A probation search of the residence was conducted and an ACPD K-9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics in a safe.
A search warrant was obtained for the safe and officers located the following items:
Approximately 1.8 ounces of crystal methamphetamine
Digital scales
Plastic baggies
Methamphetamine pipes
Follow-up interviews lead to the arrest of 45 year old Angels Camp resident Janice Barton.
Barton was arrested on October 21, 2016 and booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged charges:
11377 HS - Possession of Controlled Substance
11378 HS - Possession of Controlled Substance for Sale
182(a)(1) PC - Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
Barton is on searchable probation out of Tuolumne County. Probation will review the case for additional charges of violating her probation.
