Rita was born in 1919 to Irish Catholic farmers in Centralia, Kansas, where she lived with her 10 siblings.
She also met her husband Ray
in the same small community. In 1941 they moved to Northern California, where they were married.
In 1951 they moved their family to San Jose, where they raised four children and Rita was very involved with church and school activities
In 1978 when Ray retired, they moved to Angels Camp with their son Brian. Again Rita was involved with church and community activities.
Her hands were always busy, either holding a book, knitting needles or a crochet hook. Many babies were kept warm with her blankets.
She passed away on October 21, 2016. She was preceded in death by husband Ray, daughter Linda Kay and son Robert.
She is survived by her brother Robert, daughters Nancy (Andy), and Jeanie (Naish), and son Brian, grandchildren Ross, Kevin, Jeff and Lori and six great-grandchildren.
She was much loved and will definitely be missed.
