Thomas William Stowe of Murphys

Thomas William Stowe was born in Redding on April 8, 1942.  Husband, dad, grandpa, "papa", brother, uncle, cousin and friend - this "mountain of a man" passed away peacefully in the early morning on October 1, 2016 under the rare Black Moon at Sonora Regional Medical Center after a long illness.

He is no longer suffering and struggling and in such a better place.  We imagine there is already some plans being made now to enjoy some hunting, fishing and

probably a little beer drinking.

So many family, friends and beloved pets who passed before him are there with him now.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda Stowe of Murphys, daughters Stacey Stowe of Vallecito, Meachelle (Larry/Smooth) Roose of Burfordville Missouri, grandchildren Dalton Roose and Jezy Roose, sister Ruth (Jerry) Eamer of Sparks, Nevada, sister-in-law Tracey (Kelly) Ellifritz of Murphys, Dana (Gordon) Wallace and Gianna Ghiselli of Antioch, 5 nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.

Tom and Linda moved to Calaveras County in 1996 with Tom Martin Logging Company. He was an equipment operator grooming the snow slopes at Mt. Reba Ski Resort in Bear Valley during the winter.

He ultimately retired from Caltrans as a heavy equipment operator (Cabbage Patch and Camp Connell yards) after 21 years.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, November 12, 2016 beginning at 12 PM at the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge in Arnold.  Please let us know if you can make it so we can be sure to have enough food.

In lieu of flowers please make a donation in his memory to the Sierra Nevada Logging Museum in Arnold.

Our sincerest thank you to the exceptionally loving, caring and supportive staff at Sonora Regional Medical Center Intensive Care Unit and all of the Administrative Support Staff for their help and kindness.
