Al Segalla wants to know WHERE Calaveras Supervisors are??

During the discussion of increasing wages for Calaveras Supervisors, who only meet once every two weeks, Al Segalla commented that no mention was made of what excuses the two missing
Supervisors are.

He stated that they are being paid by the taxpayers (and are asking for a raise), and are expected to show up, even if their terms are ending soon. Good statement, Mr. Segalla!!   They are well paid whether they show up or not.

Only Oliveira will still be on the 2017 Board of Supervisors.  Edson wants to wait for the new Board to make the decision.

He also said it should be compared to what businesses are doing in Calaveras County. Amazing, we agree with something Edson says.

Once elected an elected official does not have to show up for work. Mr. Segalla, ask the new board to put a regulation in the county regulations; no work no pay.

That's fairly ridiculous. The Supervisors have to approve every law that is passed. They would NEVER pass it.

But keep in mind they get emails all day, phone calls all day and night and people knocking on their door...they should be compensated, but at the fair market

I agree they make too much already. And some just run to get a job.

I used to be that Steve Wilensky would show every week at the town hall in Mountain Ranch to listen to his constituents and would stay there whether or not anyone stopped to talked. Steve also showed up for community meetings, fundraisers, and social events - and he paid his way unlike some of the freeloader Supervisors. Chris Wright promised to do the same and posted his hours but was generally MIA for his four-year term. With $72,000/year in pay and benefits I'll bet he showed up for payday though.

It'll be interesting to see if Mr. Garamendi just "phones it in" like Chris Wright did.

I agree with fair market, like minimum wage.
