Hepatitis A contamination in Amador County

In a press release the Amador County Environmental Health and Public Health Departments announced they are conducting a joint investigation in response to a voluntary recall of frozen Egyptian strawberries due to the possiblility of hepatitis A virus contamination.

These strawberries were not distributed or sold in grocery stores. They were under brands Sysco, CH Belt/World's Finest and James Farms.  They were, however, distributed to schools in the area and have now been recalled. No cases of Hepatitis have been diagnosed.
