For the second time in recent history the person who won the vote of the people is not the President! Yes, Hillary Clinton won the majority vote of the people in the U.S., but will not be allowed to serve as President. Gore was the last one.
The reason is that the Founding Fathers set up what is called the Electoral College, which is based not on popular vote, but was designed to give small states more power in electing a President. The Founding Fathers did not trust the masses to pick a President.

After two recent losses one would think that the "party of the people" would be pushing hard to put an end to this elitist concept but they are not.
You have to wonder why.
True, so true! Would take a constitutional amendment to abolish it.
