Jeanne Jasper of San Andreas

   Jeanne Jasper passed away peacefully at her home in San Andreas on Monday January 2, 2016. She was 93.

   She was born
Eugenia Mary Reed on December 20, 1923
in Castella, California, Jeanne spent her early childhood in Railroad Flat
until her mother married Howard Joses and they moved to Mountain Ranch.

   She graduated from Calaveras High School in 1941 and married her husband of 70 years. They lived in Murphys, where
they raised+ children.

   Jeanne was active in her community, serving as Sunday School teacher at the First Congregational Church in Murphys and was a long-standing member and officer in Native Daughters of the Golden West.

   For awhile she worked at the Bret Harte Rehabilitation Center. S
he always put everyone above herself and always had a houseful of kids.

   Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband Milton E. Jasper and survived by her family Allyn and Jane Jasper of Sherburne, New York; Randy and Renee Jasper of San Andreas; Herb and Bryanna Jasper of New Pine Creek; Carol and Dan Silveria of  Lake City;  Sheri and Clifford Overmier of San Andreas; Lori Jasper of Sunnyvale; Don and Dianne Hewlett of Douglas Flat; brothers and sisters; Tom and Betty Reed of Emmett, Idaho;  Doug and Loree Joses of Mountain Ranch;  Gary and Marlene Joses of Mountain Ranch and Elliot and Cheryl Joses of Mountain Ranch.

   She is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild plus many nieces and nephews.

   The family would like to give special thanks to Sue Alkema for the long-term loving care; Kate Scott and Hospice for their loving care and support.

   Services will be graveside for immediate family at People's Cemetery in San Andreas. Memorial contributions can be made to Amador Calaveras Hospice at P.O. Box 595 in Jackson, CA 95642 or to Native Daughters of the Golden West, Ruby Parlor 46 at P.O. Box 1874, Murphys, CA 95247.

   San Andreas Memorial Chapel is handling arrangements.
