Catastrophic CCWD failure--outage in Meadowmont

   A catastrophic failure in CCWD facilities has caused a water outage in the Meadowmont area of Arnold today.

   CCWD is not certain how long water will be off, but when it resumes, customers will need to boil water.  We will update this when CCWD advises us of status.

Flash flood warnings

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office has just issued a Flash Flood Warning from 3:25 PM on February 22, 2017 through Saturday morning February 25, 2017 for the levees along the lower San Joaquin River and in the Delta of the northwestern Stanislaus.

   They warn people to stay away from the edge of rivers and streams during this time. Large amounts of water are being released by Don Pedro Dam, causing the river below to rise to flood stage. Be cautious!

  On February 15, 2017 the Calaveras Sheriff's Office arrested Jessica Nichole England (34) of Mokelumne Hill on  Higdon Spink CutOff in West Point.

   According to the Calaveras Sheriff, around 7:10 AM on February 13, 2017  they investigated a report of a burglary at the CCWD Water Treatment Plant in Valley Springs.

Comet 45 P passes near the Earth

   A frozen snowball passed near the Earth, showing its tail following closely behind.  Comet 45P came nearer to the Earth than the Sun does.

Oroville dam spillway crisis could have been avoided

   Over 180,000 people have received immediate evacuation orders for Oroville and other towns just below the Oroville Dam after another hole was detected in the spillway late yesterday.

   There have been a lot of questions about how this could have been avoided. The emergency spillway had NEVER been used and apparently not enough testing and investigations into the stability of the dam has been done, even though we have had 6 long drought years.  WHY???

Prime Minister Trudeau gets upper hand on Trump...literally

   Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau got out of his limousine this morning and President Trump offered his had to shake.  Prime Minister Trudeau is not only eloquent, he's highly intelligent.

    Immediately Trudeau grabbed hold of Trumps upper arm, a sign on dominance and prestige. Then the two went into a meeting with women entrepreneurs, where Trudeau showed his education level and especially his vocabulary and respect for women all over the Dumpty. It was GREAT!!!

School bus on fire in Sonora

   February 13, 2017 at 12 Noon:  A school bus has been reported on fire at Mono Way and Tuolumne Road in Sonora.

   Emergency personnel are en route to the scene. It isn't known if students are on board.

Trumpty lies again...about voting

Calaveras County needs an honorable District Attorney

   Barbara Yook, who just sits and collects all that money pretending to be the Calaveras County District Attorney, needs to be replaced.  She's just corrupt and not honorable. 

   Who will step up and run against this woman, who just has to be replaced?  She has love of the racist criminals, dirty cops and corrupt Sheriff!  Something has got be done about her.

City Councilwoman is a streetwalker???

   At the Angels Camp City Council meeting last week, one woman councilperson, Susan Rudolph, stated that she is out walking the streets of Angels Camp at 5 AM.

    What on earth is that woman doing, just coming home from the bar, or seeing her other twosomes????? If I saw her walking in front of my home at 5 AM, I would be scared!

Arrest on Hwy 49

   On February 11, 2017 the Calaveras County Sheriff's Department arrested Michael Anthony Waldon (41) of Murphys on Hwy 49 near Carson Hill.

   Waldon was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for allegedly Threatening a Crime with Intent to Terrorize, a felony and for Drawing or Exhibiting a Firearm, a misdemeanor.

Emergency Evacuations: Oroville Dam may fail

The emergency overflow is apparently
eroding the dam as the water spills out!

   February 12, 2017:  After a week of assurances that the dam at Oroville was structurally safe, tonight an emergency order has been issued for evacuations to residents in all towns below the dam.

   The tallest dam in the US at 800', they now say that the dam is showing signs of instability and could actually fail at any time.  People are quickly gathering up their belongings and trying to get out
of the area.

Angels Camp doesn't like pot!!

   At the Angels Camp City Council meeting, every council person except Amanda Folendorf said that all constituents who contacted them do NOT want pot sales in their town.
