According to CHP a Manteca man was riding his Harley Davidson southbound on Hwy 49 near Chicken Ranch Road in Sonora at approximately 45 MPH.
A 2005 Ford Ranger was stopped on chicken Ranch Road preparing to turn left onto Hwy 49 when he failed to see the Harley and turned into the lane.
The driver of the Harley applied his brakes and swerved in an attempt to avoid a collision but was unable to stop in time.
The impact caused the driver and passenger to be ejected from the arley and land in the northbound lane to the rear of the pickup.
The driver of the Harley, who has yet to be named 45 year old man from Manteca received moderate injuries and was transported to Sonora Regional Medical Center.
His passenger (46) also of Manteca sustained major injuries and was transported by air ambulance to an unknown hospital in Modesto.
