On March 13, 2017 around 5:25 PM Derek Walker (39) of River Pines, was driving his 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle on Hwy 49 near Big Bar Road in Mokelumne Hill.
As he leaned into a left hand curve, the rear wheel went out from under him. He hit the guard rail and was ejected from the motorcycle. He was taken to Sutter Amador Hospital with moderate injuries.
