As we reported on April 6, 2017, around 11:20 AM, the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office and emergency fire department personnel, were dispatched to Whiskey Slide Road north of the intersection of West Murray Creek Road in Mountain Ranch.
According to the Sheriff's Office report, a 21-year-old male
who was employed by a tree cutting contractor was removing an oak tree from a rural property when a limb fell onto his boom truck bucket.
The worker sustained major injuries and was unconscious when emergency services arrived. He succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
This is considered an Industrial Accident. His name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
