On June 15, 2016 a few close Republican friends were having a little get-together and began discussing the likely Republican nominee, Trump.
McCarthy, who is from California, said "I think Putin pays Trump! Swear to God!"
Then Ryan says, "This is just between us family, right?" Someone in the room was taping and have now released it to the media.
McCarthy is trying to say it was meant as a joke, but no one believes him and Ryan now.
