Police chases often end badly....

   An El Dorado Hills middle school counselor is in critical condition after she was struck head-on by a suspect being chased
by a Placerville police officer.

    This happened on narrow Placerville Hills Drive, when the suspect tried to pass another vehicle to escape the officer.  This is often what happens in chases of this type.  The chase was a boyfriend, girlfriend case where the girl claimed she had been kidnapped.
