According to the Calaveras Sheriff on October 28, 2017 deputies responded to the Oak Shadows Mobile Home Park on Calaveritas Road in San Andreas for a report of a shooting,possibly over a vehicle
A domestic dispute is alleged to have been the cause of the shooting, between a 50 year old man
(the victim) and the alleged suspect Carol Soares (age 66). Both live in the mobile home park.
Witnesses reported hearing an argument prior to the single gunshot, which apparently was through a doorway outside the Soares mobile home. The victim sustained minor injuries to his face, and later sought treatment at a local hospital on his own.
Soares was arrested for alleged attempted murder, inflicting corporal injury and was booked into the Calaveras County Jail. Bail was set at $2 million. No other information is available.
