If you have ever gone down Escalon Bellota Road to Modesto, you know how horrible ROUND-ABOUTS are in traffic areas.
How did TWO round-abouts get stuck in San Andreas (one at Poole Station and Hwy 4 and one at Hwy 49 and Airport Way by COG's planning?? Who came up with that insane idea???

I understand they're sdoing the one at the old airport to help the property owner sell the airpost to a developer. why is he so favorded?
I will put up with roundabouts if they finally grow and get some stores. Keep our money local if possible, but I doubt they will ever get a decent store.
Roundabouts are great, hate traffic lights and Europe has them everywhere and they work great!
The roundabouts should be built to a standard that will pass trucks with 53 foot trailers without jumping the curbing. Poole Statin Rd and Hwy 4 is still a dangerous intersection, even with the widening and tree target removal.
Sometimes the state encourages local governments to do unwise things. Such may be the case here. HWy 4 is a major North South road with usage growing. There should be plans for a bypass of San Andres so that local traffic would not be disrupted by the through traffic. The state will not allow this, but encourages roundabouts for "traffic calming". Des future backing up of traffic at the roundabouts result in traffic calming?
