Magic Show, LLC, a California state-licensed Cannabis Cultivation business (CA License Number: TML17-0000017), is holding a Press Conference at its warehouse to announce its self-abatement of Cannabis plants that will be too young to harvest or take to market at the time the ban goes into effect.
The estimated retail value of these plants, if they were to be grown to maturity and processed, is about $678,000.
This action is being involuntarily taken because State-licensed an tax-paying businesses are being shut down by a ban on commercial Cannabis cultivation enacted by the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors on January 10, 2018. The ban goes into effect on June 7, 2018.
According to Magic Show, LLC Managing Partner, Dr. Prapanna Smith, "We will offer an important newsworthy statement for the Press, followed by a tour of our facility while the plants are being cut down.
Film crews will have the opportunity to take footage of the destruction of our grow, and to interview the owners of our business and its employees, all of whom are losing their jobs as a result of the ban."

Owners of other Calaveras County businesses impacted by the ban will be present to share their stories as well. Moreover, opportunities may be available for news teams and firm crews to visit other previously permitted and taxed Calaveras County Medical Cannabis grow sites, where self-abatements will also be implemented on this most solemn of days.
