At the July 10, 2018 Calaveras Supervisors meeting, Sheriff DiBasilio attempted to get his campaign chair
Candace Kesey a cushy job at the taxpayers expense.
Crooked and corrupt as this is, our non-esteemed Sheriff was willing to pay her probably 4 times the legal rate per hour.
It was put on the consent agenda to pay her $240,000 for a two year stint at cleaning maybe 2 or 3 times a week, the Sheriff's Office.
Fortunately dozens of people protested and called him out on this. He had taken advantage of the CAO Lutz being new, NOT getting an RFP, no bidding process, totally corrupt!
It was pulled back, the CAO apologized, Captain Ballard, who Supervisor Oliveira called in to explain (instead of DiBasilio) refused to assist him, and another SCANDAL in Calaveras County government was exposed.
Do we want a Sheriff who is this corrupt, this crooked? Later on, we even go hacked and the Sheriff had this article removed, so we are republishing it.
The racist element, the drunken postals, the dirty cops and corrupt political officials cannot win!!

I don't know why it was not put out for bid. They already have a vetted person doing the cleaning at the government center. Oh, I know so Candace can sleaze her way into the Sheriff's Office and use what she finds to blackmail others? Wasn't she just fired from Mark Twain Hospital recently?
5 Claw has already been background checke an even 5 Claw wasn't contacted to bid. Very unfair practices in this county. Let the bidding begin.
She lost her contract with the hospital cleaning the clinics because she was doing a bad job.
It was a scam all right. How can DB say he never talks to his chair? That's bull!
