According to CHP on July 15, 2018 at approximately 7:20 PM a 36 year old Angels Camp resident was driving her 2005 Subaru eastbound on Vallecito Road east of Rolleri Bypass at a high
rate of speed.
Rodney Sanders (24) of Vallecito was driving a 1980 Ford F250 westbound on Vallecito Road, east of Rolleri Bypass at 40 MPH approaching the Subaru.
The female driver of the Subaru attempted to negotiate a right hand curve and allowed her vehicle to travel across the double yellow line into the westbound lane.
The left front of the Subaru collided with the left rear of the Ford and then continue eastbound and off of the roadway, overturning twice, ejecting the woman from the vehicle.
As a result of the collision, the as yet unnamed woman sustained life-threatening injuries. She was transported by ground to a landing zone at the Angels Camp Police Department, but succumbed to her injuries prior to being transported by helicopter from the landing zone.
The 6 year old passenger in the Subaru, also not named, of Angels Camp, was transported to Mark Twain Hospital with minor injuries.
Sanders and his passenger Dylan Block (24) of Murphys were not injured. The use of alcohol or drugs is unknown at this time, pending toxicology reports by the Calaveras County Coroner.
