July 9, 2018 at 11:15 AM: A U.S. Forest Service truck ran off Hwy 4 and into a ditch less than a block from the office
in Hathaway Pines.
A second Forest SErvice truck and then a CHP pulled up behind and the yelling began. "Don't you know how to drive?" and "I was just going to the dump" were heard by residents nearby.
Apparently there were no injuries. No tow truck was seen in the area. Perhaps 12 hour shifts are having their toll on employees.
A bear was recently struck down near Red Apple a couple of weeks back, by a U.S. Forest Service employee.
