The Carr Fire started on July 23, 2018 at around 1:15 PM by a vehicle pulling into dry grass at Hwy 299 and Carr Powerhouse Road in the Redding area.
As of August 2, 2018 125,842 acres have been burned, 1060 homes have been destroyed, 18 commercial structures destroyed, and 477 others structures destroyed.
186 homes are damaged, 8 commercial structures damaged and 64 other structures are damaged. Massive evacuations are still taking place in Shasta and Trinity County. The fire is 35% contained.
