The Donnell Fire in Tuolumne County as of August 6, 2018 at 8 AM is 12,000 acres and is listed as 1% contained. It is burning on the north side of the Stanislaus River at this time.
There will be a public meeting today at 5 PM at the Pinecrest Amphitheatre. Mandatory Evacuations are taking place from Dardanelles to Kennedy Meadows.
Although it isn't confirmed on the USFS website, we understand that some cabins in the area have been destroyed. There was also a mad dash to save animals pasturing in the mountains, including a herd of mules.
I don't think we have to tell you that if it should cross the Stanislaus, we are in real trouble.
