Screech owls treated and released

  The Mother Lode Wildlife Center reports that they took in many screech owls this year, nineteen as of December 13, 2018.


   One was dead when it arrived, 4 died within 24 hours, 2 had to be euthanized, 11 were treated and released and they still have one in their care. 

   The losses are difficult to take, but some are hit by cars, caught by cats, and seriously injured in other ways, so they feel that saving 11 or 12 is a success.
