Red Emmerson to get award

  Timber Processing Magazine will honor  Archie Aldis 'Red' Emmerson at its October 2019 Expo in Oregon. SPI owns 1.95 million
acres in Washington and California.

   Emmerson, now 90, started Sierra Pacific Industries with his father.  They now operate 14 sawmills in California and Washington and produce 2.6 billion board feet of lumber annually.

   He started by going to after forest fires and has made a virtual fortune, attacking the burned trees
before they stop smoldering.

   They also talking California into allowing clear-cutting and have added to their billionaire business by taking everything in the way of the trees.
