According to CHP Lana McCartney (68) of Mokelumne Hill was driving a 2017 on Hwy 49 and came to a stop at Hwy 12 in San Andreas about 1:45 PM
on August 1, 2019.
McCartney then apparently pulled out in front of James McArthuer (30) of Valley Springs, who was driving a 2003 Honda on Hwy 12.
The impact to the side of the Honda forced the Honda into a third vehicle, a 2004 Toyota, driven by Hannah Lumbus (22) of Valley Springs traveling the other direction on Hwy 12.
McArthuer was transported to Mark Twain Hospital with minor injuries. Jason Nunez (8) of Valley Springs, a passenger in McArthuer's vehicle, was transported to UC Davis Medical Center with major injuries. Cody Nunez, (6) also a passenger with McArthuer, was not injured.
Also not injured were Lana McCartney and Hannah Lumbus. Alcohol or drugs is not considered to be a factor in this collision.
