According to the Calaveras Sheriff, a deputy attempted to stop a motorcycle with a passenger for excessive speed (75 in a 55 zone) between San Andreas
and Valley Springs.
At the Hwy 12 and Hwy 26 instersection the driver yelled at his female passenger to get off, and as she was getting off her leg got caught and she was dumped onto the roadway. One deputy remained with the injured woman.
The motorcycle reached speeds of 100 MPH as the deputy pursuded him, passing over double yellow lines and with no regard for the safety of others.
The deputy terminated the chase near Hogan Lake campgrounds. The suspect was identified as Brian Matthew Dehart, 33 years old of San Andreas.
DeHart is a white male adult, 6 ft tall, 327 pounds with black hair and brown eyes, last observed driving a dark colored motorcycle.
Please call 754-6500 if you have any information about the whereabouts of DeHart. He had been previously arrested on 11-26-19 on charges of alleged Vehicle Theft among others. He is considered armed and dangerous.
