Major injury crash on Hwy 4

    According to CHP on October 30, 2020 around 7:25 PM a Ford Fusion and a Honda Accord collided

on Hwy 4 at Batten Road in Vallecito.

   Apparently Mark Garcia (55) of Columbia crossed into the lane of the oncoming Fusion driven by Nicole Rieg (49) of Discovery Bay.

    They struck head-on, causing entrapment and major injuries to both parties. They were transported to Modestor hospitals via helicopter.

   Alcohol or drugs appeared to be a factor, per CHP, and Garcia was arrested for alleged felony DUI and released to the hospital for treatment.
