According to CHP on February 10, 2021 around 5:50 PM a CHP officer
observed a rider on a 2021 Yamaha on Hwy 4 near Horseshoe Road in Copperopolis.The officer observed that he was speeding and turned around to stop him. The driver, a 47-year old male from Turlock ran off the roadway on a curve and down the embankment.
The CHP officer stopped and found the male had suffered fatal injuries. The Calaveras County Coroner was called to the scene. Drugs and or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this fatal collision.
The name is being withheld for notification of relatives.
