Car strikes deer in Mokelumne Hill
June 29, 2021 at 9:15 PM: A car has reportedly struck a deer and it is in in the roadway injured at Hwy 49 and Hwy 26 in Mokelumne Hill.
CHP is being dispatched to the area. Likely the car had no deer warning whistles, which are a cheap way to prevent the suffering of deer and damage to your vehicle.

Calaveras Sheriff reports on Murder
According to the Calaveras Sheriff on June 26, 2021 around 9 PM a deputy responded to a report of a shooting on Ridge Road in Railroad Flat.
The victim was transported to the hospital, but apparently died on the way. The shooter, Ralph McGaughran, was arrested nearby.
The two had been arguing, reportedly, over McGaughrans dangerous target shooting prior to the shooting.

Collision near Sequoia Woods Golf Course
On June 25, 2021 emergency personnel were called to a collision on Meadow Drive, very close to Sequoia Woods Golf Course in Arnold.
Apparently a golf cart was involved and two with major injuries were flown to a Modesto hospital. An investigation was held as to the cause and we have not yet heard the results.
