After one person jumped into the water off a boat new New Melones Dam, another
jumped in to assist him because he was in trouble.The first person was rescued, but the one who jumped into help is still missing and presumed drowned per the Calaveras Sheriff's Office.
The name is being withheld for notification of next of kin.
