College professor arrested for arson

    On August 11, 2021 authorities arrested Gary Stephen Maynard (47) who is a criminal justice professor, after placing a tracker on his vehicle.

   According to police, his vehicle was traced to several fire locations just outside the Dixie Fire. Are they
investigating whether he actually started the Dixie Fire.  We aren't sure. He is in a Sacramento County Jail now.
