According to the Calaveras Sheriff's Office, on January 5, 2022 around 12:35 AM deputies arrested Shawn Jonathan Melcher (44) at Hogan Dam Road and Walker Trail Road in Valley Springs.
Melcher was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged Sex
Penetration with foreign object, drugging the victim, forced oral copulation, sodomy, trying to dissuade a witness, threats with intent to terrorize and assault, felonies.
