    February 25, 2022 at 10:15 AM:  A car reportedly ran off Hwy 108 near Bald Mountain Road in the Twain Harte area.

Arrest for false imprisonment

    On February 6, 2022 Calaveras Sheriff deputies arrested Kevin John Lowry (51) of Valley Springs at his residence on Valentine Hill Drive.

   Lowry was booked into the Calaveras County Jail for alleged False Imprisonment,  Aggravated assault with a firearm, Willful discharge of a firearm and Child abuse, all felonies.

45 new COVID cases in Calaveras

   Since February 7, 2022,  45 new cases of COVID have been diagnosed in Calaveras County.

   Five more people have died from the virus in the past week.

Coyote or Fox struck on Hwy 49

    February 11, 2022 at 8:40 AM:  A coyote or fox has been struck and injured by a vehicle at Hwy 49 and Hwy 26 in Mokelumne Hill.

   The animal, although injured, is still running around on the roadway. CHP is en route to the scene.
